education is social justice

We believe that genuine learning communities teach toward social justice. By placing empathy and critical consciousness at the heart of their ethos, these communities understand that true education elevates the collective.

indigenius teaching and learning (ital) supports learning communities throughout their journey towards a more equitable and culturally proficient practice. We are driven by our sincere conviction that education is the single most transformative process for a sustainable world.

the word - feedback from partners and participants

“…their professionalism and approach fostered an atmosphere of trust and collaboration. It was fun filled, eye opening, interactive, and will stay with me for a long time to come. At the end of the workshop, I had a better understanding of why some of my students are disengaged and pushed me to think about how I need to do a lot more to support them. ”

- Branka Vasic, ELA Teacher, International School of Paris, France

“The Balance of Cultural Power workshop was both engaging and eye opening. Sagda and Amin’s warmth, kindness and skilled facilitation created a safe learning environment, allowed all members of the group to feel welcomed, and fostered a sense of trust. Throughout, they encouraged participation and reflection as they helped us to see the ways in which commonplace and often overlooked actions, choices and traditions impact the way we value, and de-value the culture and self worth of others. I left the session with a deep appreciation of the challenges facing members of our community, armed with practical advice to make a positive difference, and motivated to make our community more inclusive.”

- Lance Murgatroyd High School Deputy Principal, Singapore American School

“We had an overwhelming response from teachers across the whole school who felt genuinely impacted, inspired and moved…They use humor, vulnerability, powerful vignettes, and love to touch participants and spark reflection, growth and critical consciousness.”

- Alexa Schmid, Middle School Principal, International School of Kenya.

“Amazing! The workshop helped me understand the adversity that students experience within an international setting. The delivery of the workshop was thought provoking and highly enriching. I would go so far to even say healing for all in attendance. I would highly recommend for anyone interested in establishing greater connection with their students, colleagues, and interested in unlocking new levels of personal and professional growth.”

- Richard Thompson, College Counsellor, International school of London. Doha, Qatar.

“...truly game-changing learning.”

- Mathew Woodward, Elementary Principal, International School of Kenya

“It has been almost 2 years since I experienced the workshop given by Sajda and Amin. I say experienced and NOT attended deliberately as this workshop was no ordinary workshop! It was an authentic experience into identity, difference, and empathy. This is one of the few workshops where the presenters saw and valued each participant on their own terms and as unique individuals. I still my cut-out doll, empty of any accessories and therefore privilege. The workshop made me think hard and feel hard. The presenters spoke from the heart and mind. It is rare to see this much dedication and passion. I have attended and given many many workshops, but this one will remain with me forever. I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in thinking critically and deeply about who they are, who is the ‘other’, and unpacking existing cultural norms and societal bias. As teachers we have an obligation to face and understand better our own beliefs and values before impacting other young minds.”
